Miriam Shaw

Miriam Shaw grew up as a pastor’s daughter, raised with a strong Biblical worldview, conservative Christian family values, and a deep respect for education and hard work.
She graduated from Oral Roberts University and began her career in behavioral health before transitioning into pharmaceutical sales, where she became a top-selling pharmaceutical representative. Later, she moved into real estate, working for her family company, Shaw Homes, where she found great success.
After years of career growth, Miriam felt called to the ministry of motherhood and made the decision to become a full-time mom. She prioritized Christian education for her child, ensuring he received an education rooted in a Biblical worldview.
In the fall of 2021, she attended a school board meeting, where she connected with other like-minded parents advocating for medical freedom for students. This quickly expanded into a broader movement for curriculum transparency to ensure Biblical values were upheld in education.
Since then, Miriam has been highly active in local school board and city council races, as well as policy-making decisions. Alongside other dedicated parents, she helped petition city hall and worked with city councilors to revoke a city-wide mask mandate in August 2021. Additionally, she pushed back against the police oversight committee (Office of Independent Monitoring), believing it would negatively impact the local police department and the city at large.
Miriam remains committed to advocating for parental rights, faith-based education, and community values—working to ensure that families have a strong voice in shaping their children’s future. Miriam also serves on the Board of Trustees for Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA) which is a conservative think tank whose mission is to promote the flourishing of the people of Oklahoma by advancing principles and policies that support free enterprise, limited government, individual initiative, personal responsibility, and strong families.
